The Digital Agricultural Group at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities is recruiting two postdoctoral researchers with a background in AI Modeling and Earth System Science to begin in early 2025 or sooner.
The successful candidate will work on applying advanced knowledge-guided AI-modeling techniques to expand and enhance the robust monitoring of cropland carbon budgets. This involves integrating multi-modal data (e.g. remote sensing, eddy-covariance flux tower/chamber measurements, soil sampling), biogeochemical/physical process-based model, advanced AI algorithms, and top-down atmospheric inversions. The successful candidate will be supervised by Dr. Licheng Liu and jointly by Dr. John Nieber in the Department of Bioproducts and Biosystems Engineering and will work closely with a diverse group of research and industrial collaborators. For more details, please see the complete job posting. To apply, please send an introductory email describing your interest in the position along with a CV and a sample publication to Dr. Licheng Liu (lichengl@umn.edu).
